How to log into WordPress

If you have a wordpress website, and you have been given your username and password, you can log into your website or reset your password by entering the following website address:

http://www.”YourWebsiteName”.”yourdomain” followed by a forward slash and wp-admin

or example, http://www.youtube.com/wp-admin (this will not be valid as youtube )

When you access your website address (followed by “wp-admin” you will be given the option to reset your password.)

Note that this is not always the case. “/wp-admin” is the default but can be changed either by using a security plugin or editing the worpress files directly. If this method does not work and you cannot obtain the details from your website designer, it may be possible to reset your password directly though your cpanel using mysqladmin.

It is worth noting that wordpress has several different levels of access rights. These access rights allow different people (users) to accomplish different tasks. For example, a Subscriber has very limited access (can only post comments etc.) where as an Administrator has very detailed access rights (can install plugins, create new pages etc.)
